RF & Impedance Performance
✅ Impedance Characteristice
The feed network adopts 50Ω microstrip controlled impedance, the most common standard for RF radar and antenna systems. At mmWave frequencies, impedance is extremely sensitive to Dk fluctuation, copper roughness and trace dimension. We compensate stack-up and trace width according to actual material batch test data, to keep impedance stable over the working bandwidth. Custom impedance such as 70.7Ω,100Ω differential line is supported for power divider & coupler circuits.
✅ Signal Performance Features
- Low Insertion Loss: Low Df Rogers material greatly reduces dielectric attenuation, critical for long feedlines in millimeter wave.
- Phase Consistency: Multi-channel feed traces are length-matched precisely. Good phase balance ensures predictable beam forming & scanning for phased array antennas.
- VSWR & Return Loss: Typical port VSWR ≤1.5:1, return loss better than -15dB after impedance tuning.
- High Isolation: Dense grounding via fence along array edges acts as an electrical wall, suppress crosstalk and mutual coupling between adjacent antenna elements, channel isolation >20dB.
- Low Dispersion: Dk stays consistent across wide frequency range, less frequency drift for broadband radar design.
Manufacturing Advantages
We are specialized in high-frequency microwave PCB fabrication, with mature process for PTFE-based Rogers boards.
- Solder mask-free antenna window process: Antenna radiation pads are exposed bare copper. Solder mask will shift resonant frequency and raise loss, which is forbidden for mmWave antenna.
- LDI Laser Direct Imaging: For ultra-fine traces required by high-frequency microstrip lines, stable line width control for impedance consistency.
- PTFE dedicated drilling & routing: Special cutting tools and parameter to avoid substrate smearing, tearing and hole roughness.
- Panel shrinkage & expansion compensation: Pre-compensate material dimensional change to guarantee critical trace length matching for phased array.
- Rf impedance coupon test: Impedance test coupons produced together with panels for verification before shipment.
- Hybrid lamination service: Combine Rogers high-frequency core with FR4 for cost optimization when the project budget is limited.
